This album is a real progression
from the previous album, which sees Kavana aiming his music towards an
older audience. This album is a mix of R&B and contempory music, and
provides little in the aspects of the "Pop" style music of the previous
album. This albums is deffinetly a very acoustic album, and almost every
track has at least one acoustic instrument. Vocally, Kavana is much more
varied and has a greater vocal range then on the first album (a good example
is "Will You Wair For Me") and this really shows Kavana's full potential
as a vocalist. I'm not entirely sure if I like this album more than
the older one, but it does hold some great songs on it, and is no doubt
going to be just as big of a hit as Kavana's 1st album.

1. Special Kind
Of Something
Our Rating Of This Song
- 4 stars out of 5.
This song is really fantastic,
and in a way it leads to dissapointment.
This is the first song on the album,
and after hearing it, you'd expect the rest of the album to be very much
with R&B themes like this song, unfortunately this is not so, and the
album turns out to be more contempory. Apart from that, as soon as you
hear this song, you know it's gonna be a great album, it really is full
of R&B themes, and is a real progression from the singles on the first
album.

2. Funky Love
Our Rating Of This Song
- 2.5 stars out of 5.
I don't much care for this song,
it kinda sounds like something dragged up from the 70's, and well it should
probably never been a single, maybe a better option would have been to
put "Is That You" on the album in place of this song.
In my opinion this is probably
the worst song on this album.

3. Will You Wait
For Me
Our Rating Of This Song
- 4.5 stars out of 5.
This has to be one of the best
songs on the album, and probably one of the best songs of Kavana's 4 year
career in the music industry. This truly shows Kavana's potential as a
vocalist, and also as a song writer (even though this was a collaborative
effort).
Although this is a great song,
I don't think it'll make it to the Number One position in the UK when it
is released there in February. But apart from that, you can't really pick
any fault with this song, because it truly is wonderful.

4. Just The Way
It Is
Our Rating Of This Song
- 3.75 stars out of 5.
This is a very R&B themed song,
and is probably the most R&B song on the album, and infact I sort of
think that this song might be leaning too much towards the R&B genre
for this album, but nevertheless it is a pretty good song, and good to
dance to as well.

5. Make Believe
Our Rating Of This Song
- 4 stars out of 5.
This song is really good. It's
well written and easy to listen to and really suits the overall style of
this album. Once again, this song features some good harmonization and
should really probably be featured on a single some time soon.

6. If I Fall
Our Rating Of This Song
- 3.75 stars out of 5.
There's not much to say about this
song, it's very "easy listening," and sounds very much like the next two
songs (Thank You & Misunderstood). But overall, it has a catchy
tune and is easy to listen to in any mood.

7. Thank You
Our Rating Of This Song
- 3.75 stars out of 5.
This song is Kavana's only solo
effort at song writing on this album, and is probably in the top 5 of Kavana's
best song which he has written as a solo artist. This has been Kavana's
3rd single in Taiwan and South East Asia from the "Instinct" album, and
from what I hear it has been pretty successful.

8. Misunderstood.
Our Rating Of This Song
- 4 stars out of 5.
This has heaps great words, and
like the previouse two songs is very acoustic in it's instruments. It's
easy to listen to, and a good one to have a sing to.

9. I Believe
Our Rating Of This Song
- 4.75 stars out of 5.
This is my Favourite song on the
Instinct album, and it really reminds me of an old "Martika" song from
the late '80's. It's a very moody sort of song but deffinetly the instrumentation
used makes it every bit more fantastic. In my opinion I think that this
song should probably be a single, but it probably won't be. This is kinda
like "Holdin' Back On U" from the 1st album, it's good enough to be a single,
but just missed out to other songs - Give this song a listen - you won't
be disappointed!
Watch out for spelling errors on the Asian Edition
jacket for this song - on a few copies the song title for this song is
spelt incorrectly.

This song ain't all that. I guess
it's average, but it's pretty damn uncool.
I mean Kavana even swears in this
song, but yeah I think that maybe a better song could have been put as
the last song instead of this, on what was otherwise a really good album.
