kav is coming home!
After six months away Kav was
so desperate to play with his TOTP
mates again that he squeezed
into the nearest postbox
(OK, he hailed a taxi but only
coz he couldn't fit through the slot!)
Kav, You've grown your hair! Thought
you said long hair makes you look girly?
It used to but I've lost my chubby
face and I've sprouted some stubble so I don't get mistaken for a lady
anymore! I'm not sure about it though. Maybe I'll get it all shaved off
for the second single off the album!
You Haven't released the First
yet! What's it about?
It's called Special Kind Of Something.
It's
about when I first became a pop star. I hung around the wrong circles for
a while and there's stuff I saw which I'd rather not seen so young.
Like What?
Messy Things. Robbie's a prime example.
I was lucky to have people around me who wouldn't let me become like that.
It's knowing your limits and when to stop.
You Wrote it from the Heart then?
Yeah. There's a line that goes 'Nobody
said I'd feel this pain.' That's reffering to the loneliness I've felt
(Suddenly looking very much in pain.) I need to be in love you know.
Any romance while you were away?
(Blushing redder than the postbox.)
Yeah, there was this Australian girl called Kylie who I met in LA. She's
a make-up artist and we hung out for a while but I had to move to Italy
so that was the end of if.
How was Italy?
I lived in a huuuge villa by the
sea and it was so quiet there I totally chilled out. I was on a real spiritual
vibe - reading, lighting joss sticks, watching the sun set...
Do You Think You've changed in
any way?
I've grown up a lot and I'm starting
to like myself more. I used to put on this cheeky chappy Northerner fromt
all the time. I'm a lot more honest now. Every night I look in the mirror
ans say to myself, 'You're a geek but I love ya!'
Did you feel Lonely while you
were slogging away in Italy?
Yeah, I missed me mum and dad and
me mates. I used to get pretty depressed about that. I really missed hearing
all the pop gossip too. I had to read 'TOTP magazine' to sind out all the
latest stuff. I'm still dying to hear about Ronan's Wedding!
Have You Turned Down any
Job Offers over the past few months?
Yeah , there were two huge contracts.
One was a film called ....erm Virtual Reality, or something. It's the next
big Brit movie and they wanted me for the lead role. The other was for
the lead in the musical 'Saturday Night Fever.' I really wanted that but
I'm glad I said no coz I'm so chuffed with my new album.
Finally, what are you looking
forward to most, now you're home?
Performing songs I enjoy. I can't
wait to get back on TOTP too. I'm gonna run round like a madman and tear
into the canteen shouting, "Hey everyone, I'm back!"
